Break for Birthday

Thank you to all who wrote notes and sent well wishes on my birthday!  At 74 (yikes!) I need all the good wishes I can get.  Got up, remembered it was my birthday, and thanked God for all my blessings - many of which are dear friends throughout my life.

I went to my  Patisserie/Bar/Gelateria right next door for a coffee macchiato.  It was full of people on a Sunday morning.   Bruna and Lilianna were very busy waiting on customers.  I enjoyed my coffee and went back to my room to work on my Rome blog a bit more.




Debbie picked me up for what turned out to be a surprise birthday lunch with the Doug and Heather Nothstine and their darling children Jacob and Leah.  Useful birthday gifts and a great lunch .  Gelato at the best local place afterwards was a wonderful birthday treat!  I felt so blessed with their thoughtfulness.

Now back in my room, reading the weekend base newspaper, relaxing and just enjoying my day.

I was able to go to the base movie center with Debbie last night and highly recommend  Crazy Rich Asians as a must see!  I have a busy week planned and may train to Venice on Tuesday or Wednesday, and get my hair done on Thursday.  I leave here Friday for Scotland.
